Europa League: Tottenham poised for tough win against Rubin Kazan

The Europa League may not set pulses racing in the same way as the Champions League, but this week there are some intriguing ties.

All four English teams are in action and not one of them has a straightforward game…

Tottenham Hotspur vs Rubin Kazan

After a disappointing start to their season, Spurs have picked up in recent weeks and have now won their previous three home games, including tricky matches against Arsenal and Liverpool.

Rubin Kazan will provide a stern test though, having lost just two of their last 15 away games in all competitions.

However, with Jermain Defoe back to his best and Spurs’ European home form seeing them lose just once in the Champions League last season, backing Spurs to win at 4/6 looks a tempting bet.

Stoke City vs Maccabi Tel Aviv

Stoke have been excellent in their Europa League campaign so far and are 1/2 favourites against Group E bottom side Maccabi Tel Aviv.

With the Israeli outfit winning just one of their previous five and Stoke losing only one of their last 20 games at the Britannia, backing Stoke to keep up their good start looks like the bet.

Wisła Kraków vs Fulham

Fulham head into this tricky away games as 11/10 favourites, with Wisła Kraków out at 5/2 to get their first Europa League win this season following 3-1 and 4-1 defeats against OB and Twente respectively.

Fulham have lost just two of their previous 21 Europa League games and should get a much needed win.

Club Bruges vs Birmingham City

Bruges are 8/11 favourites to win this clash and, looking at their recent form, it’s easy to see why.

Bruges have not lost in their 19 homes games so far this season, winning 16 of them, and have won both of their Europa League matches this term.

If you fancy an upset though, Championship side Birmingham can be backed at 7/2 to get the win.
