Wolves vs Wigan: Latics can pick up vital points at Molineux

Published:

Wigan have endured a miserable start to the season and currently sit at the foot of the Premier League table.

They have lost their previous eight games in all competitions and are now the 4/7 favourites to be relegated from the top tier.

However, they won’t get a better chance to pick up points any time soon than in their game against a struggling Wolves side.

Wolves are the 5/6 favourites for this game at Molineux despite being eight games without a win in the league since their 2-0 victory over Fulham back in August.

Their last home game against Swansea City saw boss Mick McCarthy booed for much of the game until his side fought back from 2-0 down to pick up a hard-earned point.

Another draw can be backed at 12/5.

Wigan should not be discounted in this game though and they are 7/2 to get the win.

It could prove to be a lucrative punt as Roberto Martinez’s men have won their previous three games against Wolves and have lost just one of their last six meetings.

With two teams in the midst of a dreadful run of form, this promises to be a tight and tense affair.

However, neither side is exactly tight at the back and there should be plenty of goalscoring opportunities.

Wolves have shipped at least two goals in their previous seven Premier League games, while Wigan haven’t kept an away clean sheet since a goalless draw against Swansea back in August.

Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 5/6.
