Europa League: PSG and Lazio face crunch final group games

Published:

All the headlines in recent months about Paris Saint Germain have been about their big-spending plans for the future – but now they have more immediate concerns.

PSG – along with Italian side Lazio – need to win their final Europa League group game in order to have any hope of making it to the next stage of the competition.

However, with both teams facing the already-crowned winners of their respective groups, it promises to be a tough evening for them…

PSG vs Athletic Bilbao

After five Group F games, PSG have won just two and must get a third against group winners Athletic Bilbao to progress.

That may not even be enough though as second place Salzburg are big favourites to beat Slovan Bratislava in their game at 8/11.

PSG are the favourites for their game though and can be backed at 4/7 to triumph against a Bilbao side with nothing to play for.

PSG haven’t lost in their previous 18 Europa League home games and have kept ten clean sheets in their previous 13 in Paris.

Backing PSG to win 2-0 looks tempting at 5/1.

Lazio vs Sporting Lisbon

A win may also not be enough for Lazio who are third behind a FC Vaslui side who have a superior head-to-head record and are 5/4 favourites to beat bottom of the group FC Zurich.

Lazio should still have enough to see off Sporting Lisbon though as they have lost only one of their previous 13 games in all competitions and have hit three goals in each of their last two.

They also haven’t lost at home in the Europa League this term and are 8/15 to win and 8/1 to win 3-0.
