Brighton v Newcastle: Toon to prove too good for Seagulls

Published:

Newcastle United make the long trip to Brighton this Saturday and are expected to comfortably sweep aside the south coast side.

However, Brighton have acquitted themselves well in the Championship following their promotion from League One last term and will be no pushovers in this FA Cup fourth round clash…

Match odds

Newcastle are unsurprisingly the favourites heading into this game and can be backed at a very decent 1/1 to get the win.

They may have lost their last game 5-2 to Fulham but that was their first defeat in four – a run that included victories over Manchester United and Queens Park Rangers.

They have been dumped out by lower league opposition in recent seasons though and lost 3-1 to Stevenage last term.

If you fancy another upset this time out then Brighton – who haven’t lost any of their previous five games – are currently 11/4 to get the victory.

Goal markets

Brighton have kept just two clean sheets in their last nine games and face a side who have scored at least once in their last seven.

With the Magpies shipping five in their defeat to Fulham last weekend though, backing both teams to score at 8/11 is worth a punt.

Demba Ba is still away at the African Nations Cup so Leon Best looks likely to start and is 13/2 to find the net first.

Finally, Will Buckley scored two in Brighton’s 2-1 win over Peterborough last weekend and he is 3/1 to score at any time.
