Chelsea chasing Sneijder and Hulk according to latest rumours

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas may still be amongst the favourites to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job, but that hasn’t stopped the Portuguese from allegedly planning his summer spending spree.

The Blues have been far from their dominant best this season and there has been a distinct lack of creativity in the middle of the park – but that is something Villas-Boas is keen to address.

And it’s Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder who is thought to be top of his wanted list.

The Dutchman was rumoured to be heading to Manchester United in the summer but now west London looks likely to tempt him – especially with Inter slipping to seventh in the Serie A table.

Chelsea’s own Champions League ambitions are looking somewhat precarious, with Villas-Boas’ men currently fifth in the table following a run of just three wins in their last 11 Premier League games.

The arrival of Sneijder would be a huge boost to Chelsea but Champions League football looks like a must if they are to bag the 27-year-old.

According to the Metro, Sneijder isn’t the only player Villas-Boas has his eye on, and the free paper reckons Porto striker Hulk – who the Chelsea boss managed during his successful spell with the club – is also a target.

However, Porto insist he is not for sale and have an £85million buy-out clause in his contact, a sum too rich even for Chelsea’s deep pockets.

If Villas-Boas doesn’t hang on until the summer then former boss Jose Mourinho looks set to be the favourite to replace him.

The Real Madrid manager is allegedly house hunting in London, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur all being put ‘on alert’ – at least according to the Daily Mirror.
