Everton v West Brom: Jelavic to inspire latest Toffees win

Published:

Everton have come good with their customary strong run in the second half of the season of late and they can continue their climb with another victory over West Brom.

The Toffees went seven league games without defeat before suffering back-to-back reverses against Liverpool and Arsenal.

But they got back on the winning bandwagon at Swansea, which has proved one of the tougher locations for visiting teams to take three points this season, which confirms their spot in the top half of the table.

However, West Brom are unlikely to roll over lightly as Everton bid to further pressurise the clubs above them, as they have lost just two of their last nine Premier League away fixtures.

Meanwhile, they have received some pleasant news on the injury front in the past few days, with Graham Dorrans, Chris Brunt and Jerome Thomas all pushing for recalls after spells on the sidelines.

It is 7/2 that they claim the three points, while the draw can be backed at 5/2.

However, punters may want to note that only one of the last 11 top-flight encounters between the pair have ended all square.

Home form is generally a key component in any solid phase of form and Everton have especially turned Goodison Park into a fortress.

They have only conceded one goal in their last four home games and it is 11/8 that they also manage to shut out West Brom.

Meanwhile, with Nikola Jelavic quickly finding his feet at the club, Everton to win to nil at 2/1 may also offer some appeal.

Jelavic only managed one goal in his first six games, but has netted in each of his last two. He is 1/1 to add to this tally by scoring at any time in the 90 minutes.

Alternatively, Tim Cahill has scored for Everton on West Brom’s last two visits to Goodison Park and is 7/4 to strike against them again.
