Goal trend may continue as Chelsea meet Barcelona in Spain
Published:Barcelona are aiming to overcome a 1-0 deficit when Chelsea visit the Nou Camp on Tuesday, and the standout bet of the game appears to be for both teams to score at 5/6.
Pep Guardiola’s European champions haven’t appeared as invincible as they are often perceived recently, suffering defeat both away to Chelsea last week, and at home to Real Madrid on Saturday to all but end their La Liga title hopes.
They are still favourites to progress to the Champions League final however, and look almost certain to net at home to the Blues, and add to their 18 European goals in just five Nou Camp games this term.
It should also be noted that in the past five meetings of these sides in Spain, both teams have registered on four occasions.
Chelsea must be fancied to keep that run going in the aftermath of their 1-0 success at Stamford Bridge last week, as well as notching five in another major cup semi-final against Tottenham the previous weekend.
Roberto Di Matteo’s men will also take confidence from the fact that they have managed three draws on their past five visits to the Nou Camp, and managed to notch in two of those, which could tempt some punters to get behind the 11/2 for a score draw.
The Blues have also already travelled to Spain this term, drawing 1-1 in a group clash with Valencia at the Mestalla, and the likes of Frank Lampard will be keen to keep up a scoring run against Spanish sides.
Lampard hit the winner when England last met Spain in November, and the midfielder has also struck on two of his last three outings at the Nou Camp, in addition to the goal he scored in that Valencia encounter earlier this season.
He, and a Didier Drogba who was unplayable at times last week, indicate that the Blues have enough to find the net in Spain this time, and a home side featuring Lionel Messi look primed to do the same and justify those 5/6 odds for both teams to score.
