Man City will want to avoid Group of Death in Champions League

There is not too long now until the draw for the group stages of the Champions League and there are some clubs that the four Premier League entrants will want to avoid.

One possibility is that the champions from the top four European leagues are all in the same group and Manchester City will not fancy a tough group for the second season in succession.

Real Madrid, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund would be a nightmare for the Premier League champions and not ideal for the competition as a whole.

It is 7/2 that Man City end up in the same group as Real Madrid, 11/2 they are paired with German champs Dortmund and 13/2 they are drawn with Juventus.

Instead, AC Milan may actually represent the easiest option from pot A, while all of the English clubs would prefer to avoid Juventus and big-spending PSG from pot C.

Within reason the draw is a bit of a lottery, with the only stipulation being that two clubs from the same nation cannot be in the same group.
