Millwall v Blackburn: Hard to see too many goals at The Den

Published:

It is some proof of the statement that league form goes out of the window in cup competitions that Millwall and Blackburn are both in the FA Cup quarter finals, given that they are the two most out of form clubs at present in the Championship.

Hosts here Millwall have lost seven of their last eight in the second tier, while Blackburn are winless in six and have lost each of their last three.

With only one point also separating the pair in the Championship standings, it is perhaps no surprise that Millwall with their home advantage are favourites to win at The Den at 11/8.

Blackburn are 2/1 to triumph and will at least have some revenge on their mind, having already suffered a home defeat to Millwall in the Championship this season.

But to do so they will have to beat a club that have been defeated in just two of their last 18 FA Cup games on their own patch.

One thing that has been noticed about Blackburn’s progress is that they are still yet to concede a goal in the FA Cup this season, even shutting out the attacking threat of Arsenal in the last round.

Meanwhile, Millwall have failed to score in both of their March fixtures so far and five of their last eight in the league.

With Blackburn also failing to score in four of their last five, a low-scoring game could be in prospect and this is where the best bet can be found.

It is 4/5 that under 2.5 goals are scored here, but it could be worth taking a chance on the 12/5 that no more than a single goal is converted.

Alternatively, it is 7/1 that a replay is required to find a semi finalist because of a 0-0 draw at The Den.
