Valencia v Swansea: Swans to pounce on Los Che slow start

With just four points from four Premier League games it would be easy to write Swansea off for their trip to Valencia.
However, closer inspection shows that while Michael Laudrup’s men were outclassed by champions Manchester United on the opening day of the season, they were unlucky to lose 1-0 to Tottenham and could easily have grabbed a winner in the crazy Monday Night Football clash with early pace-setters Liverpool.
As such, four points from four, having played three teams with top four aspirations, should provide Swans fans with plenty of enthusiasm for the season ahead.
Another cause for optimism is the poor start Valencia have had on the domestic front. A 1-0 win over Malaga on the opening day proved a false dawn as Los Che have since lost three in a row, including a resounding 3-1 loss to Betis last time out.
Such form undermines the hosts’ tag as 4/6 favourites and implies that the Premier League outfit represent great value at 10/3.
If Valencia are to use the mid-week European tie to shake off their domestic blues then the form of one-time Spurs striker Helder Postiga will be of paramount importance.
The Portuguese forward has bagged three goals in his last four games and will lead the line against the Swans, making the 11/10 on an anytime goal hugely tempting.
Those expecting the hosts to make the most of their home advantage and score first could also be swayed by the 4/1 that says Postiga finds the back of the net before anyone else.
However, given their scoring prowess so far this season, it would be tempting fate to not consider Michu and Wilfried Bony as potential scorers on the night.
Michu opened his domestic account with the leveller against Liverpool on Monday, taking his tally for the season to three in all competitions, while Bony has already helped himself to five goals – four of which have been bagged in Europe.
Both players are priced at 7/1 to open the scoring, or it’s 9/4 on either hitman to find the net at anytime.
