Devon derby at Exeter heads up League Two ‘unders’ treble

Published:

Exeter play host to bitter rivals Plymouth in League Two in a fixture which has witnessed far more passion than goals in recent times, while low-scoring affairs are also predicted at Morecambe and Torquay.

Back under 2.5 goals between Exeter and Plymouth @ 4/6

Devon bragging rights have generally belonged to Exeter City in terms of league position in recent times, though when they face old rivals Plymouth the games are typically tight.

Only one of the last five encounters has been won by more than a single goal, while the last five meetings in a row have dipped below the 2.5 goals line, while two of those contests would have paid out on less than 1.5 goals being scored.

The last three hosted by Exeter have all gone shy of the 2.5 mark also.

Back under 2.5 goals between Torquay and York City @ 17/20

Staying in Devon, but heading south to Torquay, goals have become something of a commodity for the inconsistent Gulls.

In their last six games in all competitions, Torquay have only scored more than a single goal once, whilst also drawing three blanks.

Meanwhile, struggling York have only scored multiple times twice in their 10 games in all competitions this season.

Back under 2.5 goals between Morecambe and Chesterfield @ 3/4

Early pace setters Chesterfield landed with a thump last time out, when Mansfield burst the Spireites undefeated bubble with a 1-0 victory at the Proact Stadium.

That defeat stopped a run of four straight wins to nil for Chesterfield, but it still represented the fifth game in succession where the final goal-count sailed under 2.5.

Morecambe drew a blank at lowly Northampton last time out also.
