Khan not even given a fighting chance against Mayweather
With Amir Khan looking very likely to be the next fighter to jump into the ring with undefeated Floyd Mayweather next year, Ladbrokes have issued a raft of prices on the potential bout, though they only see one winner.
Ladbrokes are offering 1/10 that ‘Money’ Mayweather consigns British boxer Khan to the long list of defeated opponents, though according to Jessica Bridge of the betting firm, punters are not being put off by such skinny odds.
Bridge said: “Khan’s more of a celebrity these days than a boxer, and punters are already piling into Mayweather despite the short price. We don’t rate Khan’s chances at all and are happy to lay him.”
Meanwhile, Khan’s chances have been set at 6/1 to win the bout, or those daring punters who believe Khan could get lucky with a one-off blow, can get 16/1 on the former Olympic champion to become the first opponent to knock the American out.
However, those firmly of the belief Money will get the job done yet again in Las Vegas, may wish to look for profit elsewhere, in his method of victory.
It’s 4/6 that Mayweather ends Khan’s challenge by KO and 5/4 Money takes it on points. It’s probably worth noting that Mayweather’s last three fights have gone to the judges, though the last Briton to enter the ring with him, Ricky Hatton, was sent to the canvas.
