Jump on Aguero to be top scorer before it is too late

Manchester City may be six points off of the top of the Premier League table, but they have a healthy lead over their opponents when it comes to goal scoring.

The Blues’ hugely impressive 7-0 win against Norwich took their tally to 28 goals already this season. More excitingly, perhaps, for City fans is that in Sergio Aguero, they have a player at the top of his game.

Aguero, who is 9/2 to be the Premier League top scorer this season, now has eight goals in nine top-flight games and is joint-top scorer with Daniel Sturridge, who is 6/1 in the betting.

Whilst Luis Suarez remains favourite for the accolade at 7/2, his partnership with Sturridge may see Liverpool’s goals distributed a little more evenly compared with that of last season when the Uruguayan scored just under a third of the club’s goals.

With David Silva seemingly returning to top form, a long with the signing of Jesus Navas, Aguero has been free to focus on his goal-scoring again. The Argentine has started every game as a centre forward or as a striker and is now just four behind last season’s total of 12 league goals.

If he continues to play in the way that he has so far, those odds of 9/2 will come down at a somewhat rapid rate.

If you’re looking for a longshot, joint-second top scorer Aaron Ramsey, who is two behind Aguero on six goals, is 80/1 to take the title. The Welshman is in the form of his life right now and whilst you would think that he will have to stop scoring at some point, odds such as those are very interesting indeed.
