Man City v Viktoria Plzen: Nasri to notch in walkover for hosts

Published:

Viktoria Plzen look set for another night to forget in the Champions League as they visit the home of Manchester City, who are already assured of qualification, but will surely not waste an opportunity to fill their boots and send their fans home happy.

They score when they want, they score when they wa-ant (at least at home) Man-ches-ter Cittttty……they score when they want.

The Etihad is fast becoming the theatre of nightmares for visiting teams, just ask Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas, who briefly went in to odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to be axed after that 6-0 humiliation.

Spurs are not alone though, as the six goals they managed to ship in Manchester a few days prior to Plzen’s visit, took City’s tally to 18 from their last three at the Etihad in all competitions.

As we have already alluded to on this site; such is the expected goal-fest against the Czechs, that City to score six or more goals is priced as short as 6/1, an unheard of price in nearly any other fixture.

This is certainly a possibility given City’s mood at home of late, though their cohesiveness is sure to be affected slightly by Manuel Pellegrini being tempted into making some changes.

Nevertheless, after a 3-0 reverse in the previous encounter in Plzen, the City win to nil looks a gimme at 10/11 with Ladbrokes.

Meanwhile, the 3-0/4-0 in the coupled correct score market at 10/3 looks like one to explore as does the 9/5 on over 3.5 City goals being scored.

In the absence of David Silva through injury, it seems likely that Pellegrini turns to Samir Nasri for some creative flair and taking the Frenchman to score as part of a Manchester City victory could also pay dividends at 11/5.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
