Boxing Day bankers fill our festive Football League acca

Published:

Boxing Day means leftover turkey and repeats of old films for most people across the UK but Football League fans can buck the trend with a festive acca paying out at over 37/1.

We’ve scoured the festive schedule for three Boxing Day bankers including Championship high flyers QPR, League One entertainers Peterborough and League Two strugglers Torquay.

Nottingham Forest and QPR to draw @ 23/20

QPR’s charge for automatic promotions is looking strong as we head into the New Year, with the Hoops in the top two having won three of their last five games.

However, Harry Redknapp’s men have struggled to pick up wins on the road of late, taking maximum points just once in six trips.

The west London outfit will also be aware that while Forest are not exactly flying at home, they are proving very hard to beat.

Billy Davies’ side have lost just one of their last six games in front of a home crowd, but have drawn three of the last five.

With four of the last five meetings between these two ending all square, a share of the spoils looks to be on the cards yet again.

Peterborough to beat Coventry @ 15/8

Peterborough’s away record sees them priced as outsiders for this tie but the Posh’s overall form means they have to be the pick at 15/8.

Darren Ferguson’s men have failed to win their last four on the road in the league, but have won four and drawn one of their last five in all competitions.

Coventry, meanwhile, have gone three games without a win at home and could struggle against a team that on its day plays some of the best attacking football in the league.

Torquay to beat Bristol Rovers and over 2.5 goals @ 31/10

Torquay have lost just one of their last five as hosts, while Rovers have collected just a solitary win from 14 games on the road.

But, while this suggests a routine win for the Gulls, the visitors are sure to work their West Country rivals in a game that looks set for a glut of goals.

The last four meetings between these sides have produced a staggering 18 goals, with each of those fixtures returning over 2.5 strikes.

As such, backing a home win with over 2.5 goals with Ladbrokes’ Total Result market looks a surefire way to boost your Boxing Day betting balance.
