Wimbledon poised to push Wycombe closer to the trap door
Published:AFC Wimbledon make the short trip to Buckinghamshire to face Wycombe Wanderers for their upcoming League Two clash and Neal Ardley’s Dons should be backed to notch a rare away victory.
And should their respective games survive the inclement weather currently affecting parts of England, then York City and Chesterfield are also appealing selections.

The visitors put paid to then manager Gary Waddock’s tenure when defeating Wycombe 1-0 at Adams Park last season.

Last term’s corresponding fixture saw York run out 3-2 winners over John Still’s Daggers who are winless in their previous six away from home, losing four in the process.
By contrast, success in front of their own fans has been the key to keeping the hosts out of too much trouble at the wrong end of the table.
The host’s vital 1-0 win over Morecambe on New Year’s Day ensured they remain three points above the relegation places, highlighting once more their reliance on picking up points in familiar surroundings.
And having also hammered league leaders Scunthorpe United 4-1 and held both Rochdale and Oxford United already this season on their own patch, Gary Mills’ side have shown they’re up for the fight when backed in North Yorkshire.
Cheltenham Town’s ascent towards the play-off places was checked by Mansfield Town last time out and visiting Chesterfield look set to further dent the Robins’ top-seven aspirations.
The Spireites have won nine of the pair’s 13 previous meetings, returning home from Gloucestershire with all three points following two of the last three encounters at Whaddon Road.
Only two defeats away from the Proact Stadium has been a major positive for Paul Cook’s promotion chasers, while Cheltenham have struggled at home with only three wins from 13 league matches played.
Marc Richards is always likely to find the back of the net at this level, and the Chesterfield hitman can be backed at odds of 5/1 to score first and add to the four strikes he’s scored in his last five games.
