Scunthorpe and Plymouth top picks in League Two accumulator

Published:

There’s never been a better time to get involved in the League Two action with this weekend’s fixtures offering up a tempting treble of Plymouth, Hartlepool and Scunthorpe who are all being backed for wins.

Available at odds of nearly 9/1 with Ladbrokes this particular set of selections offers up a return of £99.20 for anyone staking £10 on this trio with the bookmakers.

Better yet, Ladbrokes now has a fantastic offer for all domestic accumulators featuring five or more teams called “One Out Our Shout”. The idea is simple: choose five teams and if you are one result off winning we will refund you your original stake.

With that in mind, why not add home wins for York (23/20) and a resurgent Northampton (7/5) to create an accumulator on at odds of just over 50/1 – and could mean a return of £512.20!

Hartlepool to beat Torquay @ 10/11

The Monkey Hangers may have slipped to a 2-0 defeat away to Northampton in the week but it should be a different story now Colin Cooper’s team have returned to the familiar surroundings of Victoria Park.

Torquay are currently on a run of four games without a winning, losing three of these fixtures and they could struggle against a Hartlepool side that hasn’t conceded in three home games in the division, picking up seven points from a possible nine along the way.

Scunthorpe to beat Newport @ 8/5

A late equaliser from Bristol Rovers may have denied Scunthorpe a third consecutive win in League Two but The Iron should still be backed to pick up a valuable three points away to a Newport team that has lost three of their last four.

The Welsh club’s home form appears to have suffered, with losses recorded in four of their last five at Rodney Parade, including a loss to Wimbledon – a team with one of the worst away records in League Two – and they could struggle against Russ Wilcox’s team, who are unbeaten in 11 on the road in a run that includes wins over high flyers Oxford and Rochdale.

Plymouth to beat Morecambe @ Evens

The Pilgrims are on a great run at the moment with Tuesday’s impressive 4-0 away win over play-off hopefuls Fleetwood making it three wins from their last four games and there is plenty of room for optimism ahead of the visit of Morecambe.

A run of nine games without victory has seen the Shrimps slide down the table, with Jim Bentley’s team picking up two points from the last 15 available to them on the road. Plymouth won the previous meeting between the two teams at Home Park last term and look good for victory again here.
