Chelsea star’s wife could be big influence on future PSG switch

When a team’s star is linked to a move away from the club it can be a disconcerting time for the fans, the club and the family of the player himself.

It doesn’t seem like Chelsea’s Eden Hazard’s loved ones, his wife especially, will have too many concerns over a potential move to Paris St-Germain though, as the Belgium ace admitted he’d let his partner have her say over whether he makes the switch.

The Blues winger, who has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Stamford Bridge scoring 14 league goals and 17 in all competitions, has made the unusual admission that he’d take his wife’s wishes into consideration when considering future moves.

Speaking to Canal+ he said: “If my wife was to say: ‘Honey, I’d like you to go to PSG’, I would have to take it into account.”

Hazard has been increasingly linked to a move to the French giants, who beat Chelsea 3-1 in their Champions League quarter final first leg and are now 2/7 to qualify, in recent weeks and these comments will do nothing to douse the flames.

Despite Jose Mourinho claiming it would take a bid of £300m for Chelsea to let the prized attacking midfield pair of Hazard and Oscar leave the club, PSG’s financial might means they could quite easily table an offer for the former Lille man that Roman Abramovich would find difficult to turn down.

It’s long been said that the style of play Hazard brings to the football pitch, with his trickery and dribbling skill often turning mazy runs into goals, is the one thing that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s side lack and with the player’s interesting comments now out in the open, a more serious courting of the star could well begin.

Whether Mourinho wants to sell his star man or not though, it seems it’s the player’s wife who’ll have the deciding vote over whether he stays.
