Three wagers sure to land when Norwich ‘welcome’ Liverpool

Published:

Few punters will be tempted by Norwich’s 6/1 odds to beat Liverpool at Carrow Road, as the hosts have lost four of their last five matches and have been rolled over by the Reds juggernaut – which is gathering pace as the Premier League title race reaches climax – in their last three clashes.

Brendan Rodgers’ side look a very backable price at 2/5 to win their 11th top-flight fixture on the bounce, but we’ve picked out a trio of odds-against beauties to steer you towards ever-greater profits in East Anglia:

Liverpool to win and over 3.5 goals to be scored @ 33/20

The Reds’ crucial 3-2 win at home to Manchester City means this wager would have landed in three of their last five fixtures, while Liverpool have now averaged exactly 3.5 goals per game on their own during their spectacular ten-match winning run.

Considering the past four matches between these teams have been settled by a combined score of 18-3, with Rodgers’ men winning all of them, it’s hard to see this bet hitting the buffers.

Luis Suarez to score at least twice @ 7/4

It will have escaped few bettors’ attention that, in four appearances against Norwich, Suarez has scored a whopping 11 (that’s e.l.e.v.e.n.) goals, which includes two hat-tricks plus a four-goal haul earlier this season at Anfield.

The Uruguayan has struck 16 times in the Premier League since, with four braces and another hat-trick – which can be backed at 9/1 here – buried amongst that deluge.

Steven Gerrard to score at any time @ 13/8

The England captain has generally featured in a withdrawn midfield role this term, but his teammates keep winning penalties and Gerrard keeps slamming them home.

His nine goals from the spot so far in 2014 have come from just 10 attempts, and the 33-year-old has even managed a couple from open play – against Sunderland and Everton – since New Year’s Day.
