BGT: Lucy Kay can follow in the footsteps of Paul Potts
Published:Lucy Kay stormed into the final of Britain’s Got Talent after her performance of Nella Fantasia hit all the right notes with the British public.
The 24-year-old is now a 3/1 shot for BGT glory and with classical crossover singers having success on the show in the past it may pay to side with her to go on and win the show and the chance to perform for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.
Tenor Paul Potts won the first ever show way back in 2007, while the likes of Susan Boyle, Andrew Johnstone, Jonathan and Charlotte and Richard and Adam have all made the top three in recent years.
Kay looks set to follow in their footsteps after wowing the watching audience with her performance during her semi-final victory and received a standing ovation from judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
Joining her in the final are dancing trio Yanis, Arnaud & Mehdi after their high-heeled routine helped them beat Cartel to the final.
The Frenchmen, who were given the nod by the public after the judging panel could not be separated, are 66/1 outsiders to win the final of the ITV1 show.
Cowell’s golden buzzer act Bars and Melody are the overwhelming favourites at 1/6 with Ladbrokes to win the final semi-final and book their place in the live final.
The duo look nailed on at 1/20 to reach the final and they are 3/1 second favourites to win the show.
They are up against dance act Light Balance, who are 8/1 to win the semi-final and evens to reach the final, and posh violinist Lettice Rowbotham.
The 24-year-old musician could be the one to side with tonight and while it would be major shock to see her win the fourth semi-final, odds of 11/8 for her to reach it appeal.
