Price Boost: Rodrigo Lima given Ladbrokes odds enhancement

Published:

Benfica forward Rodrigo Lima will be hoping it’s third time lucky as he leads the line in tonight’s Europa League final against Sevilla.

The 30-year-old striker has twice been on the losing side in the competition’s showpiece finale – in 2011 with Braga and again in 2013 with his current club – but is being backed to end his hoodoo at Juventus Stadium in Turin.

Ladbrokes have boosted the 19-goal hitman from 11/2 to a whopping 7/1 to open the scoring against the Spaniards.

Lima has been in fine form in the competition this year, scoring four goals in his seven games thus far, and with six of his 19 strikes coming first in games this season the boosted price looks too good to turn down.

The journeyman striker has steadily risen up the ranks since making his professional debut in 2003 and in securing the Portuguese league title this season finally has some credible silverware to his name.

But, after losing 1-0 to Porto in 2011 and 2-1 to Chelsea last year, the strike ace will be more than keen to ensure his match-winning goal against Juventus in the semi-final is not in vain.

At 13/10 Benfica go into the final as favourites to win the match, while Sevilla can be backed at 21/10 and the draw at 9/4.
