Rochdale and Rovers to get the party started in League Two acca

Published:

With issues yet to be decided at both ends of the table the culmination of the 2013-14 League Two season is set to be a nail-biting affair.

But don’t worry. When it comes to acca-backing on the final day you can huddle around your radio in safe hands thanks to our news team’s selections.

Rochdale could be champions and Bristol Rovers and Northampton both look certainties to stay up (famous last words) in a treble that pays £70.64 from a £10 stake.

Add in Hartlepool and Bury and you could land a monster £417.20 with Ladbrokes refunding losing stakes as a free bet if one team lets you down in fivefolds or more.*

Rochdale to beat Newport @17/20

Before the floodlights were turned on earlier in the campaign, a trip to face Newport was something to be feared.

But with just one win in their last 11 at home, the hosts are now vulnerable at Rodney Parade and have limped to a mid-table finish.

Already-promoted Rochdale realise that realistically only a win will ensure they finish the season as champions.

And having thrashed Newport 3-0 in the reverse fixture we fancy Dale to fulfil their part of the bargain here.

Bristol Rovers to beat Mansfield @Evens

Bristol Rovers took a giant step to securing their Football League status by beating Wycombe last time out, sparking mass jubilation among the Gasheads’ faithful.

And by beating Mansfield at the Memorial Stadium to guarantee safety, Rovers will make sure those celebrations weren’t too premature.

The hosts have been far more reliable on their own patch this term and backed by a vociferous support they look good to secure an 11th home win of the season.

Northampton to beat Oxford @ 10/11

Oxford have quite comfortably claimed the tag of ‘bottle jobs of the season’ having claimed just two victories in their last 14 outings to plummet out of the promotion reckoning.

And they’re unlikely to find much respite at Sixfields with Northampton chasing a fourth win in six matches to confirm their place among the 92.

The visit of Gary Waddock’s side shouldn’t pose too much of a problem. Losing six of their last seven games on the road, Oxford have failed to score a single goal in those defeats.
