Britain’s Got Talent: Lucy Kay among the big hitters to back

Published:

Lucy Kay bids for Britain’s Got Talent glory this weekend with Ladbrokes pricing up the singer at odds of 7/1 for outright success.

Here are the TV stars that make the most appeal with William Geldart continuing his take on the 10 finalists.

Lucy Kay – 7/1 to win Britain’s Got Talent

Her triumph over adversity is sure to attract votes?

Classically trained opera singer Lucy Kay has delivered a huge riposte to the bullies who tormented her throughout her childhood.

But there’s far more to this talented performer than a sob story with her rendition of Nella Fantasia to win the third semi-final bringing the house down.

Verdict:

Lucy Kay can go all the way with the 24-year-old’s vocal range, stage presence and backstory already proving to be a massive vote winner.

Jack Pack – 7/1 to win Britain’s Got Talent

A bunch of jack-the-lads who can sing?

Smooth crooners Jack Pack made it to this stage with their version of Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’ ensuring they progressed from the show’s last semi-final heat.

This modern day Rat Pack certainly have their fair share of female admirers, which combined with their honed harmonies, gives them the perfect opportunity to land the big prize.

Verdict:

These guys are guaranteed support but there’s a danger they could become embroiled in a voting war with rival group Collabro. Winning that battle is crucial to their chances.

Darcey Oake – 16/1 to win Britain’s Got Talent

Who’s this buff bloke doing magic tricks?

Illusionist Darcey Oake ticks a lot of boxes. The toned 26-year-old magician offers a credible alternative to the singing acts on the show and has hugely impressed, first pulling doves out of thin air and then making himself disappear.

Verdict:

Darcey Oake offers something different and if he can pull off another show-stopping set of tricks then his in-play odds could plummet.

The Canadian’s panache has earned him plenty of admirers and while being an overseas act may not appeal to some, the price on offer is well worth snapping up.

James Smith – 25/1 to win Britain’s Got Talent

An original talent set to shine on the big stage?

Certainly. Every teen girl’s dream, James Smith has captured the public’s imagination with his ‘live lounge’ style performances of tracks such as Nina Simone’s Feeling Good.

Verdict:

Cheeky chappie James Smith appeals to a large cross-section of the voting public and certainly can’t be written off. The odds suggest the 15-year-old is an outsider but the teen-singer guitarist is capable of pulling off a shock.
