Galatasaray’s late saviour Yilmaz one for Arsenal to watch out for

Published:

A 1-0 win over Besiktas in qualifying for the Champions League at the end of August was the last time Arsenal fans celebrated victory on their own patch, but they will be hopeful the visit of another Turkish side will end that run.

But while a win over Galatasaray will be widely expected even for the most pessimistic of Gunners supporters, Cesare Prandelli’s side are capable of posing some problems.

We take a look a trio of individuals that could give Arsene Wenger a headache on Wednesday night.

Burak Yilmaz – To score anytime 11/4

He may not have played domestically outside of Turkey, but the striker certainly knows where the goal is, having scored 130 goals in 285 appearances in the Super Lig.

He also demonstrated an aptitude for this competition when bagging the equaliser to earn Galatasaray a point against Anderlecht two weeks ago and could be a thorn in Arsenal’s side all night.

Having netted three times in six games this season, he looks a fair price to get on the scoresheet at the Emirates.

Aurelien Chedjou – Galatasaray to keep a clean sheet @ 19/4

The big Cameroonian has been an immense presence at the back for the Istanbul club this season, not only putting in a shift in defence, but also proving dangerous going forward.

He will be the man the likes of Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck have to get past if they are to see out a home win. But with the centre back making an average of 3.8 interceptions per game so far this season (Per Mertesacker has made 1.8 for comparison), the Arsenal front line could have their work cut out.

Olcan Adin – Galatasaray to score the last goal @ 37/20

With the game winding down, expect this tricky winger to find himself thrust into proceedings in north London.

He has made three appearances this season, two from the bench and could be one to make an impact late in the day.

That trio of performances have yielded a goal and assists from less than two hours of football, and will trouble any tired legs if coming off the bench.
