Industry-best Man Utd top-scorer odds among pick of Falcao bets

Published:

Ladbrokes go 6/4 about Radamel Falcao marking his first, and potentially only, season in the Premier League with Manchester United by top scoring at the club, and you won’t get a better price than that anywhere right now.

There are many reasons to believe the 28-year-old Colombian will achieve this feat, with Falcao’s career injury record the principal among them.

Last season was the first campaign he didn’t play at least 35 all-competition matches since 2006/07, when just 21-years-old and learning his trade at River Plate.

Over the next six seasons the Los Cafeteros icon notched 128 times in 173 league games for the Argentine club, Porto, Atletico Madrid and Monaco, winning seven major honours with the first three including the Europa League in Portugal and Spain.

Two-time top flight Golden Boot winner Robin van Persie cannot be relied upon in this contest as the 31-year-old’s constant injury woes may lead him to surgery soon, while Wayne Rooney’s goal record in his first three games as captain relative to Falcao’s Monaco sign-off should be cause for concern.

The Red Devils and England skipper has managed just one goal in matches against Swansea, Sunderland and Burnley, despite being ever present in attack.

Falcao notched in a 40-minute cameo from the sub’s bench in Monaco’s opening day loss to Lorient, before grabbing the only goal when on from the off in their first win off the season at Nantes.

Other decent Falcao bets priced up by the bookie are 4/5 that he scores on his Manchester United debut, which he managed at Monaco last term, while 10/11 about over 14.5 goals looks risky considering the hotshot has bested that tally in four of the last five seasons.

You can also have 1/2 on United and Falcao making the switch permanent this summer.
