Kamara: Dictatorship cannot be allowed at Rangers

It’s been another turbulent week in the history of Glasgow Rangers with a bitter dispute between caretaker boss Kenny McDowall and chief executive Derek Llambias taking centre stage.
McDowall’s claims that he’s been told he ‘must play’ five incoming loan recruits from Newcastle have made headlines both north and south of the border.
Meanwhile, Llambias’ quick riposte that this is simply not the case has only served to enhance the image of Rangers as a club in crisis.
And as a former manager himself, we asked Ladbrokes ambassador Chris Kamara for his thoughts on the ongoing situation.
“If what Kenny McDowell suggests is true then that’s a dictatorship. The manager must be allowed to pick what he considers to be his best team” Kammy said.
“Chairmen or executives shouldn’t have a say in who goes out on the pitch otherwise they may as appoint themselves to run everything!”
While it’s unclear at this stage how much truth is emanating from either party, one thing is certain and that’s the potential impact further disruption could have on the Ibrox club’s dressing room.
“If the Rangers boss is being dictated to about squad selection then that’s wrong,” Kammy added.
“If you do get a situation where loan players and come in and the manager is told they must play then it’s going to cause resentment amongst the rest of the squad.
“It’ll cause problems rather than breed continuity.”
The controversially newly-signed quinet of Gael Bigirimana, Shane Ferguson, Haris Vuckic, Kevin Mbabu and Remie Streete are all eligible to play, although injuired pair Ferguson and Mbabu are unlikely to feature.
