Kamara: Reading have better players but Bradford will be bouncing

Bradford and Reading are set to kick-off this weekend’s FA Cup quarter-finals with the former eyeing what would be another memorable upset.

Ahead of Saturday’s 12:45pm kick-off at Valley Parade we caught up with ex-Bantams manager Chris Kamara to get his thoughts on what should be a mouth-watering clash.

Kammy told Ladbrokes News: “Bradford are going to be flying at home. Reading aren’t in great form but they’re resilient and they’ve got better players than Bradford, that’s for sure.

“But as we’ve seen Phil Parkinson puts something in the Bradford players’ water when the cup games come around!”

The hosts’ cup pedigree has been well-documented, with the then League Two side going on a remarkable run to reach the Capital One Cup final in 2013.

More recently the giant killers have seen off the challenges of both Chelsea and Sunderland in this season’s FA Cup.

And according to Kammy the whole city is understandably buzzing about the upcoming tie.

“The whole of Bradford is gearing up for this. The Bantams weren’t worried about any of the teams they played when they got to the Capital One Cup final and they’ve been unfazed by higher ranked opposition in the FA Cup” he added.

“It’s a difficult game to call but the prize on offer is immense and both sets of fans will be relishing a potential trip to Wembley.

“Does Steve Clarke think Reading should go there and try and win it or play to get them back to the Madjeski? If Reading open up then Bradford will sniff them out and nick an early goal.”

Bradford are 13/8 to win the tie at the first attempt while the Royals are priced up as the 9/5 underdogs.
