Everton can turn to an unusual source to find the net at Swansea

Roberto Martinez is confident his side can still find the goals against Swansea, even if striker Romelu Lukaku is forced to sit the match out, but could they come from an unlikely source.

The Belgian hitman is rated 50-50 to be ready for the tie at the Liberty Stadium, potentially leaving the Toffees short up top.

Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith are capable with popping up with a strike or two in his absence, but is a Blues defender that could be the real value to come up for the goods for the Merseyside club.

Phil Jagielka netted a fifth goal of the season with the winner in his side’s 1-0 victory over Southampton, to make 2014-15 his most prosperous season in front of goal.

Priced at 10/1 to strike again in South Wales, the England man is a big price to continue that goalscoring form.

That goal was his second in three games for Everton and with his three goals before that coming within a month of one another; he clearly likes to put together some sort of goalscoring streak.

After a plummet down the table that threatened to turn Everton’s season into a relegation scrap, Martinez has got his side back to winning ways.

They have won their last three in the Premier League, and their boss is now challenging his players to win their remaining fixtures at Goodison Park.

However, their away form will be tested in Gwent, with a price of 19/10 available for a fourth straight triumph.

And with Paul McShane’s goal for Hull at the weekend potentially highlighting Swansea’s set-piece vulnerability, the door may have been opened for the aforementioned visiting centre back.
