Poll Reaction: Forget Mostyn – Cellino is barmiest chairman

Published:

AFC Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn may have hit the headlines for his potty-mouthed celebration of the Cherries’ impending promotion to the Premier League but he is by no means the barmiest chairman of the lot.

After Mostyn’s expletives went viral we asked you to vote for the craziest club supremo and Leeds United man Massimo Cellino was the number one choice with 29 per cent of the overall vote.

The Elland Road boss hired and fired 36 managers in 22 years at Italian side Cagliari and his itchy trigger finger and been just as twitchy in England.

His apparent fear of the number 17 – which is rumoured to have seen Paddy Kenny sacked and the number 17 shirt retired – could also be behind him winning today’s poll.

Cardiff City fans still haven’t forgiven owner Vincent Tan for changing their strip to red and opting for a new Dragons nickname and the man who sports a replica shirt and suit combo picked up 25 per cent of the votes.

Completing the top three was former Wimbledon man Sam Hamman. His antics, including an elephant parade and the offer of camels to players, saw him attract 17 per cent of voters.

Next up was Norwich’s chef extraordinaire Delia Smith, whose famous “Where are you” rant earned her a 16 per cent slice of the pie and Mostyn, who until last night was a relative unknown outside of BH7, made up the numbers with 13 per cent.
