Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard is set to bid an emotional farewell to an adoring Anfield crowd this weekend.

However, amongst all of the fanfare accompanying Gerrard’s impending departure is speculation surrounding his potential future involvement with the Reds.

Speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes News, top pundit Chris Kamara said: “You never thought Gerrard would leave. I was expecting him to stay at Anfield in some capacity. But I’ve got no doubt that he’ll come back and one day manage Liverpool Football Club.”

“Kenny Dalglish was the biggest club icon at Anfield. He came back and took the reins. Graeme Souness and Phil Thompson also followed that path.

“Liverpool look after their own and you can guarantee Stevie G will be back there.“
