Poll Reaction: Forget Gomis, Bullard is king of the celebrations

| 18.05.2015

Bafetimbi Gomis’ celebration against Manchester City may still be fresh in the mind but former Hull ace Jimmy Bullard remains the king of creative revelry.

In the wake of Gomis’ latest panther-like crawl we asked Ladbrokes News readers to vote for their favourite goal celebration and while the Swansea star has his fans Bullard won out with 36 per cent of the overall vote.

Gomis can console himself with 32 per cent and second place and the fact he doesn’t have to go to Australia and spend the night with a load of bugs to earn his living!

Completing the top three were the entire Stjarnan FC team with their viral fish celebration.

The Icelandic top flight outfit scored a YouTube hit when they pulled off a daring fishing routine which included the catch, the landing and the photo shoot!

Tied in fourth place were Roma star Alessandro Florenzi and Bayern Munich legend Giovane Elber.

The Roma ace hit the headlines when scoring in a 2-0 win over Cagliari by running into the crowd to celebrate with his Nan, while the Brazilian rolled himself up in an advertising rug during a win for the Bavarians over Wolfsburg in 1999.

Completing our list but failing to take a single vote is Mr Roma himself, Francesco Totti. The Italian captured a derby goal against Lazio earlier this year by taking a selfie in front of an adoring Stadio Olimpico crowd.

So it just goes to show – you can be one of the most adored footballers in the world but your street cred can quickly plummet once you join the selfie revolution.
