You guessed it…Liverpool epic voted best Champions League final

Published:

There are no prizes for guessing which UEFA Champions League final has been voted the greatest of all-time.

But Liverpool’s epic comeback effort 10 years ago still had to beat off some pretty stiff competition in our latest poll.

The 2005 final in Istanbul, where Liverpool came back from a 3-0 half-time deficit to eventually win on penalties against AC Milan, topped the charts with 59 per cent the vote.

Manchester United’s incredible last-ditch victory against Bayern Munich in 1999 was next on the list with 16 per cent while AC Milan’s 4-0 thrashing of Barcelona in 1994 was deemed the third best of our selections.

And then bringing up the rear we had Borussia Dortmund’s 1997 triumph over Juventus and the 2001 penalty shootout victory for Bayern against Valencia.

That’s enough nostalgia for now though.

Juventus take on Barcelona in Berlin this weekend and Ladbrokes are offering new customers a huge 6/1 for Barca to triumph in 90 minutes!*
