Poll: Where does the axed Pearson rank in the mad-cap boss stakes?

Despite keeping his Leicester City side in the Premier League after looking doomed for much of the campaign it appears that antics off the pitch have cost Nigel Pearson his job.
His dismissal may have been linked to the well-documented actions of his son in Thailand, but it’s fair to say that the former gaffer ruffled more than his fair share of feathers during his time in charge at the King Power.
But where does he rank on the Premier League nut-o-meter for managers?
We’ve put together a list of five bosses to grace the top flight that haven’t been afraid to wear their heart on their sleeve, and we are asking you to decide who is the craziest Premier League manager of them all?
Nigel Pearson
The fact that Pearson stayed in his Leicester role as long as he did paid testament to the feat he pulled off in the East Midlands.
From throttling Crystal Palace’s James McArthur on the pitch, to swearing at fans and calling journalists ostriches, his reign was far from a quiet one for the 51-year-old.
Felix Magath
When your star centre back is suffering from a thigh injury as your club struggles to stay in the top flight of English football, there is only one option if you are Felix Magath.
A simple application of quark cheese was the German’s suggestion for treating Brede Hangeland’s injury, and funnily enough it was treated with ridicule in the national press. The Cottagers didn’t recover and were relegated with Magath facing the sack over the summer that followed.
Joe Kinnear
If you didn’t know what the ‘F’ stood for in Kinnear’s JFK nickname, just Google his rant at various journalists during his first stint at Newcastle and you will soon be able to have a pretty good guess.
His time as Director of Football at St James’ Park wasn’t any less of a comedy show as he claimed to have brought Tim Krul to the club, despite the fact he was signed by Graeme Souness, and struggled with a host of players at the club such as “Yohann Kebab” and “Charles Insomnia”.
Kevin Keegan
A whole host of Keegan quotes put him in contention for this list from “The 33 or 34-year-olds will be 36 or 37 by the time the next World Cup comes around, if they are not careful”, to “Shaun Wright-Phillips has got a big heart. It’s as big as him, which isn’t very big, but it’s bigger”.
But one rant outshines the lot, as the then-Newcastle boss let the world know what he thought about Sir Alex Ferguson and his Manchester United side.
Ian Holloway
The West Country boss always liked to add stories and analogies to his post match press conferences, resulting in a whole host of mad-cap Holloway quotes.
Like Keegan, some make the shortlist; “Every dog has it’s day, and today is woof day! Today I just want to bark!”, but the way he described his side’s “ugly” win against Chesterfield certainly sticks in the mind.
