Poll: Is Nadal-conquerer Brown your top dreadlocked sportsman?

Plenty of things stood out in Dustin Brown’s defeat of 14-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon on Thursday.
From the victory for the plucky underdog, to the eye-catching downfall of the Spaniard to the pleasing unorthodox nature of Brown’s style, talking points were aplenty.
But we are interested in something perhaps less serious than the ins-and-outs of world tennis, his hair.
There seems to be something alluring to the general public about the long flowing dreads in the sporting arena. Whatever it is the masses seem to lap up the ‘do.
So with that in mind, we are asking you to tell us your favourite dreadlocked sports star. Here’s the shortlist…
Dustin Brown
The Jamaican born German had already held a rare winning record with Rafael Nadal before their meeting on centre court, but the world number 102 adorned himself to the Wimbledon faithful even more on Thursday.
Playing his own brand of flamboyant tennis, Brown took his record to 2-0 over the Spaniard and booked his place in the third round for only the second time.
Edgar Davids
With one Champions League, one UEFA Cup, three Eredivisie titles and three Serie A gongs, Davids is probably the most decorated of our dreadlocked sportsmen.
It’s fair to say that ‘The Pitbull’s’ disciplinary record may have taken some of the gloss off his career (or added an extra edge, who knows?), and having been booked in the first eight games he featured in during the 2013-14 season for Barnet and having been sent off three times before Christmas, the Dutchman hung up his boots.
Richard Sherman
A member of the “Legion of Boom”, the Seattle Seahawks cornerback has sometimes found his mouth engaging before his brain.
However his performance in the Super Bowl in 2014 saw him walk-the-walk as opposed to just to talking-the-talk, as he picked up his first Super Bowl ring to culminate a season that saw him named the NFC Defensive Player of the Year.
Jason Lee
OK, OK, it may have been a pineapple, but they were still dreadlocks. The cult icon of 90s football worked his way around a whopping 22 different clubs in his 23 year career.
A spell at Nottingham Forest probably saw the now-44-year-old in his best light, having arrived at the City Ground for £200,000 in 1994. After 95 appearances and 15 goals, the London-born man moved on to Watford and tumbled down the leagues from there.
Christian Karembeu
The French World Cup winner certainly shocked many when swapping the Bernabeu for the Riverside Stadium in 2000, but his spell in the north-east, while short-lived, saw add even more class in an exciting period for Middlesbrough.
With a European Championship, two Champions League titles and a Ligue 1 winners medal adding to the aforementioned World Cup win, he will certainly rival the likes of Davids in this poll.
