Kamara: Stones needs to make his stance clear in Chelsea saga

John Stones must come out and say where he stands to avoid the saga around any potential move to Chelsea dragging on, according to Ladbrokes ambassador Chris Kamara.
Robert Martinez has branded comments made by Blues captain John Terry as “illegal” after the centre back tipped the 21-year-old as “one for the future” at Chelsea.
While Kammy didn’t go quite so far as the Toffees boss, he thinks Terry’s comments were out of place.
“I’m very surprised by John Terry’s comments because you can’t talk about another club’s player,” he told Ladbrokes News.
“You can say things like ‘over the years players will come in and take my place’, but it’s disrespectful to Everton Football Club to be naming names.
“That being said, the game is changing and what we might have found unacceptable last season is acceptable this one and you just have to go with it I’m afraid.”
For Kamara, the one unknown in the situation is how much desire the England under-21 international has for the switch.
“That’s the one thing that we don’t know. This could all be manufactured by Stones himself, we don’t know.
“It’s all well and good for Roberto Martinez to say he’s not going anywhere and that he’s staying with us, but if the lad has his mind set on going we know that in this day and age it is very hard to stop it happening.
“It’s one of those that is unfortunately being played out in the public domain but John Stones needs to come out and either say ‘I’m quite happy to stay at Everton’ or ‘I would like the opportunity to talk to Chelsea’.“
The defending Premier League champions have had two bids of £20m and £26m rejected by the Merseyside club, and look like facing an uphill battle for Stones’ signature if his current manager’s stance is to be believed.
