On a day when Japan, Gloucestershire and West Ham were all unlikely victors in their respective fields, Diego Costa’s antics for Chelsea against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge remained one of the biggest talking points of Saturday’s sporting action.

The antagonistic striker played a central role in the Blues’ 2-0 win over the nine-man Gunners, although didn’t actually get on the scoresheet and didn’t have an assist either.
