The Weekly Acca: Everton to beat Man United? You bet!

Published:

Having had a week off owing to the recent internationals – a well deserved break if you will – it’s time to go back in and pit our wits against the bookies.

The result is this rather ambitious five-fold which features Roberto Martinez’s Everton side as the headline selection.

And that’s not the only somewhat outlandish fancy.

Here’s a 52/1 acca that will have you drooling.

Plus, don’t forget Ladbrokes have got your back thanks to their 5+ team acca offer which offers money back as a free bet if one team lets you down!*

Everton to beat Man United

Given Everton’s injury list and the strength of their opponents you could be forgiven for thinking this is hardly banker material.

True, the Toffees are depleted but the rumoured return of John Stones will give them a lift and they should have nothing to fear against a United side who’ve lost on their last three visits to Goodison Park.

The Merseysiders aren’t afraid of anyone on their own patch. And as they’ve already shown against Chelsea this season they’ll take no prisoners against the so-called ‘big four’ teams.

Middlesbrough to beat Fulham

OK, this hunch isn’t exactly against the grain.

Fulham have won just three of their last 17 Championship games on the road while Boro have won 11 of their previous 14 at the Riverside.

The Cottagers aren’t likely to find a cure to their travel sickness this weekend with the hosts firmly justifying their pre-season hype at present.

Wigan to beat Colchester

The Latics have been racking up draws lately with four successive stalemates halting their march up the table.

But with positive points picked up against promotion chasing Walsall and Bury recently there are signs that Gary Caldwell’s side mean business this term.

On the other hand, Colchester are now facing the prospect of three defeats in a row.

Bristol Rovers to beat Mansfield

Fourth-placed Mansfield host 13th-placed Rovers this weekend but don’t be put off by their respective league positions.

The visitors have won four of their six games on the road this season and their last three in all competitions.

Mansfield are on a decent run themselves but the fact their last two wins have come against the league’s weakest sides is perhaps a little deceptive.

St. Johnstone to beat Partick

It’s time to cross over to the Ladbrokes Premiership for this final pick.

Partick haven’t won at McDiarmid Park in 25 attempts, a run that spans 40 years.

And with the Saints on an upward curve having won three of their last four league games, including a 5-1 thrashing of league leaders Aberdeen, their hot streak looks set to continue.
