Everton linked with move for highly-rated Fulham forward

Romelu Lukaku may be banging in the goals this season, but that doesn’t mean that Roberto Martinez will turn down the opportunity to bring in attacking reinforcements this season.

Everton are rumoured to be looking at the possibility of bringing Fulham’s Moussa Dembele to Goodison Park, either in January or in the summer.

While the west London club are unlikely to want to lose their highly rated hitman, with his contract up at the end of the season, they may have little choice in the matter.

Should he let his contract run down, the Toffees would simply have to pay a compensation package to the Cottagers, with Dembele being 19-years-old, similar to the arrangement city rivals Liverpool will have had when acquiring Danny Ings from Burnley last June.

The Frenchman has been in sublime form for the capital club this season, scoring seven goals in 16 appearances, three of them off the bench.

October was an excellent month for the former PSG youth product, bagging braces against Reading and Bristol City as well as the opener in a home draw against Leeds, as the Whites went unbeaten through the month.

Get West London reports that he is in talks to renew his contract with the managerless club, but with interest from a number of Premier League sides surfacing, whether he remains as keen is yet to be seen.

Everton are likely to have competition for his signature with Tottenham reportedly interested in signing him and reuniting him with his namesake Mousa who was at Fulham with the French U20 international for three years.

More pressing matters at Craven Cottage though will be to replace Kit Symons who was given his marching order last week.

Leading the betting are Nigel Pearson and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, both at 2/1, as the London outfit look to push for a return to the top-flight at the second time of asking.
