Gooners urge Arsene Wenger to bring Messi to Arsenal

Published:

When (arguably) the best player in the world announces he wants to move to your club you can be forgiven for getting a little excited.

That’s what Lionel Messi has reportedly done with Arsenal his preferred destination.

And the message from Gooners to boss Arsene Wenger is pretty clear – sign him up!

That’s according to the result of our latest poll at least with 73 per cent of voters saying that Wenger should splash the cash and bring the Argentine superstar to the Emirates.

Granted, it’s not quite as straightforward as that.

Reports also suggest that Messi would need a little extra incentive to swap Barcelona for north London, that being the none too insignificant sum of £600k per week.

Meanwhile, the Ladbrokes traders have responded to the news by offering odds of 5/1 that Messi signs for Arsenal at any stage in his career.

But don’t get too excited. It’s a pretty big 33/1 for the 28-year-old to arrive before the start of next season and 7/1 that he bails on the Gunners and signs for another Premier League club before the 2016-17 campaign kicks-off.

For the time being though, Arsenal fans can revel in the thought that Messi wants to pull on the famous red and white shirt.

And should his interest in a move to London become clearer they’ll also be hoping Wenger heeds their call to break the bank and lure one of world football’s biggest names to their club.
