How Bale, Le Tissier and Twitter reacted to Alli’s wonder-strike

| 24.01.2016

With Roy Hodgson in attendance at Selhurst Park to watch Tottenham’s clash with Crystal Palace, the England manager saw for himself the buzz that Dele Alli created with his goal-of-the-season contender.

The 19-year-old midfielder continued on his steep journey to the top of English football by netting a sublime volley to give the visitors the lead, his sixth goal of the season and another chapter in one of the biggest storylines of the Premier League season.

Alli, who was playing League One football just last season, sent Twitter ablaze with his effort against the Eagles, with the best of the reaction collected below:

Alli’s goal grabbed the last Spurs fan favourite’s attention

Matt Le Tissier, himself scorer of some sumptuous volley’s over the years, was suitably impressed

Gary Lineker used the strike as the perfect chance to plug his highlights show

The Times’ Henry Winter praised Alli’s surroundings

The goal even impressed a Barton

Here’s a couple of people calling for Alli to be an England starter at Euro 2016

And here’s the man himself keeping pretty calm about it all
