No hat-tricks tonight for Liverpool versus Arsenal

Published:

Premier League meetings between Liverpool and Arsenal have served up more hat-tricks than any other fixture, but we won’t be seeing one tonight.

That’s according to Ladbrokes News voters, who aren’t expecting the likes of Olivier Giroud, Christian Benteke or Theo Walcott to bag a treble at Anfield this evening.

Ladbrokes are offering 16/1 that a hat-trick is scored, and it would be the sixth such occurrence in this fixture.

Robbie Fowler grabbed the first back in 1994, and he’s since been followed up by himself again, Thierry Henry, Peter Crouch and Andrei Arshavin.

Liverpool are 3-2 in this little battle, and they’re 40/1 to post another hat-trick tonight.

That doesn’t look like happening however according to today’s poll, with 85 per cent of voters saying ‘no’ to a hat-trick being scored tonight.

The remaining 15 per cent of you – and very much the optimists – fancy one might be struck this evening.

It’s 28/1 for one of Arsene Wenger’s men to net a hat-trick, and with Mesut Ozil in such sublime form, the Gunners are sure to have chances this evening.

This game rarely disappoints, so despite all the naysayers, who fancies a perfect hat-trick (left foot, right foot, header) at 100/1? Stranger things have happened this season…
