Things took another sour turn at Manchester United this weekend as a late goal from Southampton debutant Charlie Austin saw Louis van Gaal’s men limp to a 1-0 loss.
The Red Devils were booed off the pitch at full-time, with United registering just one shot on target against Fraser Forster.
Once again Van Gaal’s side failed to score in the first-half, meaning the Reds have now gone over eight hours without a goal in the opening period at home – a run stretching back to September.
The Dutchman sounded almost defeatist after the game saying he cannot fulfil expectations at the Theatre of Dreams, while Tottenham’s win at Crystal Palace saw United slip five points behind the coveted fourth-place spot.
To further compound Van Gaal’s misery, rumours surged across the weekend that Jose Mourinho had sent a six-page dossier to Man United laying out the path to glory.
All in all, is time up for LvG? Will he walk? Will he be pushed?
