#CultClashes: Will surging Spurs end their Man City hoodoo?

Manchester City host Tottenham as part of an incredible Super Sunday triple-header and those from the white half of north London will be feeling pretty bullish ahead of this top-four clash.
Spurs dismantled Manuel Pellegrini’s side 4-1 in the reverse fixture and find themselves in with the chance of mounting a serious title challenge.
However, given their recent performances at the Etihad the current squad will have to muster the spirit of 2010 if they wish to complete a memorable Premier League double.

It gets a little more leftfield following this addition, promise. We just wanted to take a moment to salute the brilliance of City striker, Sergio Aguero.
His four goal haul at the Etihad last season ensured a miserable afternoon for the visitors who had briefly levelled through Christian Eriksen.
Walking calamity Federico Fazio was given a straight red card on his Spurs league debut in the second-half and Aguero continued to run riot.
There was also the small matter of four penalties awarded with two of those converted by the aforementioned Argentine.

Want to show your title rivals you mean business?
City laid down a marker for the rest of the season before going on to secure a maiden Premier League crown in dramatic fashion.
The under-appreciated Edin Dzeko helped himself to the match ball with four goals, including a sublime fifth for City.
Aguero was on the scoresheet too while Younes Kaboul’s effort was scant consolation for the shell-shocked home team.

At last we have some respite for Tottenham fans.
This crucial late season clash was all about securing the coveted prize of Champions League football and it was Peter Crouch who did just that for Spurs five years ago.
His 82nd minute winner sent the travelling fans into raptures and bagged Harry Redknapp’s side a £30m payday and a seat at European football’s top table in the process.

As per the above, this victory was notable for securing Spurs a place in Europe, albeit the UEFA Cup as it was then.
Robbie Keane marked his 200th appearance for the club with a delightful volley and then Dimitar Berbatov made the points safe with his 23rd goal of the season.
Belgian striker Emile Mpenza reduced the arrears and Jermain Defoe missed a penalty for the hosts who clung on to take the spoils.

Long before the gravy train arrived in the blue side of Manchester the Citizens pulled off arguably the greatest FA Cup comeback ever.
We don’t usually include cup matches in our lists but quite simply, this was too difficult to ignore.
Spurs had cruised into a 3-0 half-time lead in this fifth round encounter and to make matters worse City’s Joey Barton then received his marching orders (shock).
However, Sylvain Distin gave the visitors what initially appeared to be just a glimmer of hope at White Hart Lane before Paul Bosvelt made things really interesting.
Shaun Wright-Phillips then levelled before Jon Macken’s stooping header secured a miraculous victory for the 10-men.
Dystin, Bosvelt and Macken. Does it get much more cult than that?!
