Aguero’s good but Henry is best of all time, says poll

Sergio Aguero may have joined the Premier League’s illustrious 100 club but the Argentine has some way to go before he can be considered the best of all time.

That is according to the latest Ladbrokes poll, which asked Twitter to vote for their favourite striker since the dawn of the Premier League.

Man City star Aguero picked up a solid share of the votes but Arsenal man Thierry Henry remains the man to beat with a commanding 46 per cent of the votes.

The Frenchman beat Newcastle legend Alan Shearer into second place, with the England man’s record 260 top flight goals only enough to pick up 34 per cent of the votes. That left Aguero picking up the pieces with 11 per cent, while nine per cent voted ‘other’ with the suggestions ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous.

While some were clearly having fun with picks like Manchester United flop Bebe, Ali Dia and the just-on-the-scene Marcus Rashford, some of the more plausible shouts came in the form of Eric Cantona, Robbie Fowler and Luis Suarez.

For now though the crown remains firmly on Henry’s head until someone can prise it from the Gunner legend – Aguero or otherwise.
