Poll Reaction: When Will Leicester Win the League?

Leicester City are in pole position in the Premier League title race, now seven points clear of nearest challengers Tottenham with seven games remaining.

So, Ladbrokes News asked our Twitter followers when Leicester would wrap up the title.

Many are predicting some serious ‘squeaky-bum time’ for Ranieri’s men, before they finally collect the league crown, with 40 per cent voting for the Foxes to clinch the title with a game left.

The votes are in and the second most popular option is for the surprise challengers to win the English top-flight for the first time in their history, with a comfortable four games remaining.

38 per cent of you chose this option, and a stroll to the title would certainly give Foxes fans a few less anxious nights before the season ends!

13 per cent of you, meanwhile, backed Leicester to not win the title at all (Hi Spurs fans!). With West Ham and Manchester United still to come, the Foxes don’t have the easiest run-in, but their form would have to seriously disintegrate to let the title head to North London.

And finally nine per cent of you fancy the Foxes to win the title in the most dramatic fashion possible – on the final day of the season.

The idea of an Aguero-style winner from Jamie Vardy to clinch the championship at the very last moment does seem a bit far-fetched, but the Leicester fairytale has been such an incredible story that it isn’t impossible.

A Ladbrokes spokesman said: “Leicester have been everyone’s favourite football story this season, and the fact they have been so consistent in recent games suggests they are likely to wrap the title up before the final day.”

Leicester are now 4/11 to win the title, and the likelihood of that outcome is reflected in our poll. Spurs are next-best at 11/2 with Arsenal at 6/1. For those who love a long shot, we’re also offering 125/1 on Manchester City winning their third Premier League title in five seasons.

The Foxes are next in action this Sunday as they travel to Sam Allardyce’s relegation-threatened Sunderland, with the visitors 23/20 to win.
