Chances of Brexit at all-time high according to latest betting trends

According to the latest betting trends and our Brexit barometer, momentum is gathering behind the chances of a Leave outcome in the upcoming EU Referendum.
Brexit made four per cent gains yesterday with the odds on Leave shortening to 13/8 from 2/1.
And that trend has continued overnight with the chances of a Leave outcome now rated at 43 per cent, or 5/4 in betting terms. That represents an all-time high for the chances of Britain voting to leave the EU.
The Remain camp are still out in front (57 per cent or 4/6) but their once handsome lead has been eroded as the countdown continues to the big vote on June 23.
A staking increase of 150 per cent week on week has seen record numbers check in to back Leave with Remain’s record low of 1/6, or 81 per cent, now a distant memory.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Leave made further headway on another incredibly busy day for Referendum betting. We are starting to see some serious volume on this contest now and an increasing number of people are willing to part with their cash – even at shorter odds – in favour of Brexit.”
