Falkirk to play Hibernian in 2016-17 Ladbrokes Championship opener

The fixtures for the 2016-17 Ladbrokes Championship season are out and the computer has thrown-up an intriguing clash on the opening day with Falkirk set to take on Hibernian. 

Neil Lennon’s first league game in charge of the Hibees will see his new side travel to the Falkirk Stadium to face last season’s beaten Premiership play-off finalists with the Edinburgh club scheduled to meet newly-promoted Dunfermline just a week later.

Meanwhile, Ray McKinnon’s Dundee United with start their campaign in the second-tier at home to Queen of the South with a trip to Dumbarton and then a home game against Ayr following in the opening weeks of the season.

Elsewhere, Ladbrokes Championship new boys Ayr and Dunfermline will host Raith and Dumbarton in their respective openers.

St. Mirren take on Morton in the remaining season curtain raiser.
