Roy’s squad rotation receives the thumbs down from England fans

He’s often criticised for being too conservative but now it appears that England manager Roy Hodgson is getting it in the neck for abandoning his orthodox principles.

That’s according to the results of our latest Twitter poll with 54 per cent of respondents labelling the gaffer’s proposed tinkering ‘too bold’ ahead of the Three Lions’ final Euro 2016 group game.

England take on Slovakia in Saint-Etienne tonight with Hodgson reportedly planning to make six changes to the starting line-up that took to the pitch against Russia and Wales.

Captain Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Raheem Sterling, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose are expected to miss out.

Meanwhile, goalscoring heroes Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy, as well as Jordan Henderson, Jack Wilshere, Nathaniel Clyne and Ryan Bertrand are set to be the beneficiaries of the England management’s rotation.

Of course, there wasn’t too much in our poll result with 46 per cent more than happy to see the boss ring the changes.

England still need to get something from the game in order to avoid the potential ignominy of finishing in third-place.

And we’ll soon find out whether the majortity of our voters were right to question Roy or if in fact there was nothing to worry about.
