Boris Johnson favourite to leave May’s reformed Cabinet first

Published:

Boris Johnson is the favourite to be the first of newly-installed Prime Minister Theresa May’s cabinet to leave their position according to the latest odds from Ladbrokes.

The newly appointed Foreign Secretary has been installed as the front runner in Theresa May’s reshuffled cabinet to leave first at odds of 4/1.

Andrea Leadsom finds herself second in the market at 6/1 or there’s 7/1 on offer that Eurosceptic David Davis steps down from his role of securing that Brexit means Brexit.

However, for those who think Johnson will last the distance it’s a 6/4 shot he departs from his role in 2020 or later.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Time will tell if the Prime Minister’s gamble with Johnson pays off.

“We expect the former London Mayor to stay the distance but should there be a wobble from any of May’s recruits the early indicators point towards Boris leaving first.”

Plenty of scrutiny will be cast over May’s new team, and it’s 2/1 that she calls a General Election before 2016 is out.

A 2017 Election is 4/1, with 2020 or later the favourite at 4/6.
