West Ham looking to furnish forward line with Swansea star

West Ham are never far from the headlines during silly season and the latest widely touted arrival in east London is an exciting one, should Slaven Bilic pull it off.
According to Wales Online, 26-year-old Swansea City striker Andre Ayew is about to swap the Liberty Stadium for the Olympic version.
The website quote a meaty transfer fee of £16m for the Ghanaian international, who opted to join the Swans for free only a year ago, amidst rumours that Liverpool among others were keen to acquire his services.
Having been afforded 34 Premier League starts for Swansea and bagging himself 12 top-flight goals in the process, it transpired to be a wise move by the former Marseille man.
If Ayew’s master plan was ultimately to place himself in the crosshairs of more illustrious top-flight clubs, then he deserves congratulating too, as do Swansea, who stand to make a handsome profit after greatly benefiting from his services.
With the imminent move to a bigger stadium and the canny figure of Bilic at the helm, it appears a very good time to become a Hammer (albeit they have work to do in their Europa League qualifier).
The Irons spent most of the 2015/16 season threatening to land a Champions League spot, before eventually being squeezed into seventh, just four points shy of Manchester City in fourth.
Bilic has already been busy trying to ensure his side don’t tread water next term, with six new arrivals since July 1st, albeit four of those were on free transfers, including former Valencia winger Sofiane Feghouli.
Ayew would be the first big-money arrival of the summer and able to operate anywhere across a front three, he would no doubt get a lot of game time under Bilic, who prefers that set up.
